PRIDIE JUST MISSES CYCLE, BULLS FALL IN 9TH AT INDY, 5-4

(Indianapolis) Jason Pridie was just a single shy of the cycle on Friday night, but Indianpolis spoiled the evening for Pridie and the Bulls, winning 5-4 on Adam Boeve's walk-off homer in the 9th.
Boeve's leadoff homer came off Seth McClung (1-5), only the second homer McClung has allowed this season. The loss snapped Durham's five-game win streak. The Bulls are 19-36 at Victory Field since going Triple-A in 1998.
Durham had tied the game at four in the eighth. Pridie, who had homered, tripled and doubled in his first three at-bats, walked on four pitches to start the rally. He then stole second, and went to third on Justin Ruggiano's bloop single to right. Chris Richard then belted a 400-foot sac fly to center, scoring Pridie with the tying run.
The Bulls took a 1-0 lead in this game on Pridie's one-out homer in the first, his third. After Indianapolis scored single runs in the second and third off Jeff Niemann, Durham tied it in the third on a Pridie triple.
The Indians re-took the lead in the fourth, but left fielder Jon Weber minimized the damage by throwing out a runner at the plate. Durham then re-tied the game at three in the sixth as Pridie's double set up Ruggiano's ground out. Indianapolis re-took the lead on a ground out by former Bull Luis Ordaz in the bottom of the sixth. Jeff Ridgway then worked out of a second and third no-out situation in the seventh, setting the stage for the late frames.
Pridie now has hit in 10 straight games, going 20-for-41, raising his average to .349 since a Double-A call-up from Montgomery.
The Bulls, now 52-47, will try to bounce back on Saturday, as Raleigh resident and lefty Mike Prochaska takes the mound against RHP Bryan Bullington. Coverage on 620 the Bull begins at 6:30, with first pitch at 7 p.m.
