What is your best childhood memory? When I was 15 years old, I got a game-winning hit in a little league game. Runners at 2nd and 3rd, bottom of the 7th (that’s all we played) and down a run, I hit a single over 2nd base, both runners scored and we won. I remember getting mobbed at 1st. Best night ever. What are the top 3 items on your “bucket list”? Only three? Well, I’d like to see Mizzou win a National Title in Football or Basketball. I’d like to take a trip to France and ride my bike up l’Alpe d’Huez and I want to skydive. What are the best and worst job in baseball and why? I have the best job, no question. For me, my worst job would be working in ticket sales. Making 100 phone calls a day and following the same script day in and day out would drive me crazy. If you could meet one person (either living or dead) and ask them anything, who would you want to meet and what would you ask? I’d have to say Don Denkinger, the umpire who made the famously bad call in the 1985 World Series. If I could control myself, I’d like to think I would calmly ask him why he didn’t do everything he could to get the call right. Should baseball players who have taken performance enhancing drugs be banned from the game? From the hall of fame? Why or why not? Not going to be a popular answer, but no, they shouldn’t be banned. Not because they were right in what they did, but because cheating of some sort is as old as the games themselves and I’m not sure how we could possibly sort all the hall of famers out. Frankly, I wish all the drug busts would stop. I don’t think we’re better off as a fan nation knowing what we know today. |
