CREE WINS INAUGURAL RTP WORLD SERIES

Cree Inc. completed their undefeated run through The Research Triangle Park World Series on Monday night with a 7-2 victory over Thomson Reuters in the championship game at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The championship game was a rematch of Friday night's 10-9 battle where a late Thomson Reuters rally fell short. Cree was 5-0 in the Inaugural RTP World Series at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Ed Hutchins led the way for Cree in the championship game with a single, home run and 3 RBI. All-Tournament selection, April Gressel, pitched a gem in the finale and Tournament MVP Mikeal Strickland was 2 for 2 to finish the RTP World Series with a .938 batting average.
The RTP World Series was a concept developed by The Research Triangle Park President Rick Weddle; former Durham Bulls player and manager, Matt West; Bulls Assistant GM Jon Bishop and RTP Softball Commissioner, Ed Hutchins.
